American Hairless Terrier

No votes yet

In 1972 by sheer accident, a litter of mid-sized rat terriers produced one hairless female. She became the prized possession of the family and was continually bred until 9 litters later, one of each sex of hairless terrier was produced; which started the foundation for the American Hairless Terrier. The small but lively breed stands at 7 to 16 inches and weighs 5 to 16 pounds. The hairless skin of the breed needs special attention for sunburn and cold temperatures.
