The breed originated in Egypt where they were primarily used a guard dogs and were named after the Egyptian town of Armant. The medium-sized, vigilant breed stand at 21 to 23 inches tall and weigh 50 to 65 pounds. Armants are fearless and loyal, doing well with children and guarding their home.
