Bouvier des Ardennes

The breed originated as cattle drovers in the Belgian Ardennes while later when farms in the area diminished the breed almost went extinct but are still trying to be brought back as a strong breed today. The rugged Bouvier des Ardennes weighs 55 to 65 pounds and stands 12 to 14 inches tall. The breed was made for guarding but is very affectionate with its owner. Also, the Bouvier des Ardennes is not meant for apartment living, they require much exercise and running space.
