The breed is a result of cross-breeding a Catahoula Leopard dog with an American Bulldog. They were bred specifically for ranchers that wanted an increased skill for herding and hunting. The Catahoula Bulldog is best known for heterochromia, or different colored irises. The medium to large sized breed weighs 75 to 100 pounds and stands at 24 to 26 inches. The Catahoula Bulldog is very devoted to its family therefore making them a great companion.
