Redbone Coonhound

Average: 3.3 (4 votes)

The breed evolved from Irish and Scottish hounds and has been recognized since well before the 1900s. The Redbone Coonhound was first bred to achieve their flashy, red color instead of their natural instincts. Today they are bred for both attributes. This capable hunter/trailer stands at 21 to 27 inches tall and weighs between 50 and 70 pounds. The Redbone Coonhounds are naturally born hunters, so proper training and exercise is a must.
