American Akita
The breed is native to the island of Honshu in the Akita region of Japan where it is the national dog of Japan as well as regarded as sacred and a good luck charm. The massive American Akita weighs between 75 and 120 pounds and stands at 24 to 28 inches tall. The breed is very good with families and children, so good that Japanese mothers would leave their children with the breed.
