Basset Fauve de Bretagne

Historically from Brittany, a kingdom of France, the short legged Basset Fauve de Bretagne is a scent hound type. The medium-sized hound stands at 12 to 15 inches and weighs 20 to 40 pounds, the only big fault of the medium breed is the life span tends to be shorter than most breed of the same size. The breed is good with families and children when socialized from the beginning but do remember that Basset Fauve de Bretagne are scent hounds so they tend to go off on random trails.
