Canadian Eskimo Dog

Average: 5 (1 vote)

The breed originated in the Arctic over 400 years ago where they were used by the Thule people mainly for hunting and hauling. The Canadian Eskimo Dog is still quite rare but is becoming more popular due to sled dog teams that entertain tourists. The large, powerful breed stands at 19 to 28 inches and weighs 40 to 88 pounds. The thick coat of the Canadian Eskimo dog does best in cold climates where many jobs can be given to the breed for exercise.
