Cao Fila de Sao Miguel

No votes yet

The breed originated in the Sao Miguel Island in the Azores that were settled by Portugal in 1439 but the breed's standard was not set until the 1800s where they were used for bull fighting and cattle raising. The large, brown to black coated breed stands at around 27 inches and weighs an average of 77 pounds. Though aggressive, the Cao Fila de Sao Miguel loves their owners unconditionally but needs to be carefully watched around children and strangers.
