The ancestry of the Flat Coated Retriever is from the cross breeding with many breeds, that later made the them invaluable to many. They eventually became known in Great Britain and North America as the generic retriever breed. Known as forever having their tail waging. This breed stands at 22 to 23 inches tall and weighs between 60 and 70 pounds. The Flat Coat excels as a family companion.
