Korean Jindo Dog

No written record of the breed can be found but it is thought that the Korean Jindo Dog originated on the Jindo Island a long time ago, possibly from the Jindo cross breeding with Mongolian dogs brought over when Mongolian forces invaded Korea in the 13th century. The medium-sized spitz-type breed weighs 25 to 50 pounds and stands 16 to 25 inches tall. The independent Korean Jindo Dog prefers to be with their owners and no one else, astoundingly a Korean newspaper depicts a story of the breed traveling 180 miles just to get back to their owner.
