Petit Gascon Saintongeois

Average: 1 (1 vote)

The breed is one of the most rare hounds found in France, where they are considered a reduction of the Grand Gascon Saintongeois that were mated with Airegeois and other local Briquet hounds to achieve their present size and type. The Petit Gascon Saintongeois is a smaller hunting dog standing 22 to 25 inches tall and weighing 53 to 55 pounds. The calm and even temperament of the breed makes them a great home companion as well as a hunting companion too. The Petit Gascon Saintongeois is not suitable for an apartment, because a great amount of exercise will be needed.
