Pumi

The breed was developed during the 1700's from a Puli from Hungary, where the Pumi was then used for driving cattle and being a watch dog. The small, multi-functional Pumi stands 13 to 19 inches tall and weighs 18 to 33 pounds. The breed is happy and cheerful when around its master and family, but is shy and reserved around strangers. The Pumi needs a large amount of exercise and is not suitable for apartment life. The Pumi will be happiest out on a farm with a job to do.
