Rhodesian Ridgeback

The breed is native to South Africa, where it was bred specifically by the Boer farmers to fill their specific need for a serviceable hunting dog in the wild. The large, muscular Rhodesian Ridgeback stands at 24 to 27 inches tall and weighs between 70 and 85 pounds. Originally used as a lion hunter, this breed of dog is very trustworthy with children and loves being with their family.
