Fossils have confirmed that this breed has existed for over 10,000 years. The Russo European Laika has been a favorite breed of the people inhabiting northeastern Russia, where it's used mainly for hunting. The medium-sized Spitz type of breed weighs 45 to 50 pounds and stands 19 to 23 inches tall. The Russo European Laika is a very energetic breed, so a large amount of exercise is needed. Exercise with family members is best suited, as the breed becomes very attached and affectionate towards them.
