Scotch collie

The exact origin of the Scotch Collie is not known, but it is thought that the breed originated thousands of years ago in the Highlands of Scotland and England where they were used as herding dogs for sheep and cattle. The multi-purpose and healthy breed weighs 40 to 70 pounds and stands 19 to 22 inches tall. The Scotch Collie is very friendly towards its family, but is still protective with strangers. They are happiest with a large place to run, but can still be very successful living in an apartment if given an adequate amount of exercise.
