Teddy Bear

Average: 3.8 (9 votes)

The Teddy Bear is not a purebred breed but a hybrid or designer dog that is the result of crossing a Bichon Frise with a Shih-Tzu. It is important to remember that the breed is hybrid, therefore it is not always guaranteed that the dog will be of 50/50 bloodlines, due to the commonness of multi-generation breeding. The Teddy Bear has gained popularity lately due to the low shedding, calm, family orientated temperament the breed possesses. The small breed weighs 7 to 10 pounds, but since the breed is hybrid, their traits vary; to most accurately determine the breed's possible characteristics, it is best to research the two parent breeds.
