Yankee Terrier

Average: 5 (1 vote)

The breed was developed in the United States during the late 1800s by descendants from the English, Scottish, and Irish immigrant dogs. The Yankee Terrier was bred to be larger and taller so that they could be used for dog fighting, guarding, working, hunting, and protection. The powerful, muscular breed weighs 22 to 110 pounds and stands 18 to 22 inches tall. Though the Yankee Terrier can be very aggressive and is known as a fighting dog, they are still extremely affectionate and loving towards their family, even far enough as being good with children when properly trained.
