Afghan Hound

Average: 4 (5 votes)

The Afghan Hound was first spotted in Afghanistan and its surrounding regions in the 19th century. Many describe the dog as an aristocrat, the appearance is one of dignity. These dogs proudly carry themselves, ranging from 50-60 pounds and standing between 25 and 27 inches. The most prized color of this breed is white, but colors can range. The long, thick strands that comprise the coat need to be regularly taken care of, along with regular exercise, due to the bigger stature of the breed. While shyness may be a fault of the dog, they quickly become prized companions of any family.
