Am Staff's are great dogs keep in mind that they do have a high prey drive so it may/may not work out with your cats. The shelter shulod be able to test him with cats if they don't already know how he is with them. They are great family dogs that need a strong pack leader who is willing to put in the time/effort for training on a daily basis. Most dogs will bark at intruders.
