Appenzeller Sennenhund
The breed is a native of Switzerland dating back to the Bronze Age where it is known as the rarest of four Swiss Sennenhunds. The large yet charming Appenzeller Sennenhund stands at 18 to 23 inches and weighs 49 to 70 pounds. The breed is not for apartment or city life but thrives on a farm with much room for running and guarding their homes.

Check out an Entlebucher. They are harder to find- I had mine shieppd in from NC. Entlebuchers are very loyal, hove a great amount of energy, are super obedient, very easy to train, and grow to be about 40-50 lbs. I had mine walking off leash at 10wks without any problems. He learned to sit and stay at street corners in only a few days. He does bark at strangers- but is the most loyal and affectionate dog a person could ask for. You can check the breed out online by doing a search for entlebuchers on google or ask Jeeves.
