Australian Terrier
The Australian Terrier was the first dog recognized to be native to Australia in 1868. For its incredibly small size, 10-11 inches tall and weighing between 9 and 14 pounds, the dog is great for pest control, tending livestock and sounding for intruders. The brown based coats of the dog are said to be weather proof and need little grooming. Australian Terriers do well in urban or rural settings and are appropriate for families or someone living alone.
