Austrian black and tan hound

Average: 4 (2 votes)

The breed is thought to be a descendant from the original Celtic hound but no history was found until the middle 19th century in Austria where the breed was most commonly used to track small wounded game in high altitudes. The solid, medium-sized breed stands at 19 to 22 inches tall and weighs approximately 44 pounds. The Austrian black and tan hound is used primarily for its hunting abilities.
