Bavarian Mountain Hound

The breed descended from Germany as far back as the Middles Ages where they were used as a scent hound to hunt wounded game. The large Bavarian Mountain hound are not suited for city life weighing 40 to 55 pounds and standing 17 to 20 inches tall. The breed loves an active, yet strict family setting.
