Chien Francais Blanc et Noir
The breed was established in the 1800's, when Gascon-saintongeois hounds were cross-bred with Poitevans to produce a pack hunting dog that was most valuable in deer hunting. The large, black and white hound stands at 26 to 20 inches and weighs 60 to 70 pounds. Though unusual for pack dogs, the Chien Francais Blanc et Noir is friendly and easy to manage.
