Chow Chow

The origin of the Chow Chow breed is not greatly known, but they appear on Chinese pottery dating back to the Han Dynasty (206 B.C.) Though originally bred for hunting, Chow Chows quickly became part of a normal household. The lion-like dog stands at 17 to 20 inches tall and weighs in at 45 to 70 pounds.
