Estrela Mountain Dog

This particular breed was first spotted in the Estrela Mountains of Portugal where they were used to guard herds and homesteads. This stubborn, but friendly dog stands at 24 to 29 inches tall and weighs between 66 and 110 pounds. Estrela Mountain Dogs are very protective of the family and homes.
