The direct origin of the breed is unknown, but it is a Japanese Spitz type of dog that is distinguished as a big game hunting animal, especially bears. The medium-sized, determined hunter stands 18 to 22 inches and weighs 45 to 65 pounds. The breed does good with children and other animals when properly socialized and is happiest with a large home and a place to run.

Yeah I'm not really into Chihuahuas ehtier, but my aunt has one and it is very annoying when it barks! It does not get along well with children and it once bit my little brother! I introduced my Spaniel mix to him and he kept barking at my dog so we decided to keep them apart!
