Miniature Poodle

The breed originated in Germany as a water retriever, where they also received their famed poodle clip or haircut to keep vital organs and joints from being exposed to the cold. According to the AKC Registration Statistics, the poodle is one the the most popular dog breeds. This small dog stands between 10 and 15 inches and weighs between 15 and 17 pounds. Usually thought to be all beauty and no brains, the Miniature Poodle is very smart and fitting for most families.
