Peruvian Hairless Dog

The breed is very ancient, dating back to at least 750 AD where pre-Incan cultures made many ceramic statues that resembled the Peruvian Hairless Dog. The breed is most known obviously for being hairless, they still may have short hair on their head, feet, and tail. The Peruvian Hairless Dog comes in three sizes: small, which weighs 9 to 18 pounds and stands 10 to 16 inches tall, medium which weighs 18 to 26 pounds and stands 16 to 20 inches tall, and large which weighs 26 to 55 pounds and stands 26 to 30 inches tall. The breed is extremely sensitive to cold and the sun so extra precautions need to be taken. The Peruvian Hairless Dog is very friendly and loving towards its family, but it is wary of strangers.
