Slovakian Chuvach

Average: 4.5 (2 votes)

The breed can be seen as far back as the 17th century, though World War II almost brought about the extinction of the breed with great help, the Slovakian Chuvach is now recognized internationally. The powerful and versatile breed stands 22 to 28 inches tall and weighs 66 to 99 pounds. The Slovakian Chuvach is a fearless defender and will stop at nothing to protect their family. They are almost dramatically affectionate with their families, especially children but are wary and even defensive towards strangers. The breed's large size makes them most suitable for a farm or ranch style of living.
