Small Munsterlander

The Small Munsterlander is a versatile hunting, pointing, and retrieving dog that was first kept by noble families in Münster, Germany. Though a great sporting dog, later the breed was primarily used as a house pet and continues to be a great house pet today. The Small Munsterlander weighs 45 to 60 pounds and stands 18 to 22 inches tall. The breed is very attentive and trainable but does require a gentle yet firm master to create a great dog. The Small Munsterlander is happy and affectionate with family but a large amount of exercise and hunting is needed to keep the breed happy and from starting unwanted behaviors.
